For the past twelve years, Miller Street Dance
Academy has been a leader in not only dance
education, but as an advocate of community service.
We feel that a mixture of strong dance technique,
good grades and service to our community will build
self-esteem among our dancers. A very small percent
of our students will make dance their career, but 100%
of them will go on to become compassionate and
service-oriented citizens. At Miller Street, we hope that
giving to others will become a habit.
BANDS FOR LIBERIA

Our goal is to raise $1 Million dollars by selling these
pink bracelets for $1.00 with the proceeds benefiting
an orphanage in Liberia.  This is such a personal
project for us because one of our student's family
has adopted 3 of the boys from this orphanage.

Let’s remember those that are hungry during this holiday season.
Just think if we all just brought in one can good what an impact we could make.

There will be a container in the lobby for donations to the Loaves and Fishes program.
Below is a brief description from their web site telling about this wonderful organization.

What is Loaves & Fishes?
Loaves & Fishes is a nonprofit emergency food program which provides a week's worth of groceries to people in crisis
in Charlotte Mecklenburg. Loaves & Fishes began in 1975 by a handful of people in our community who recognized
the growing hunger needs of people in our area and opened a single food pantry to address those needs. In 1975,
Loaves & Fishes fed approximately 1,000 people. Since 1975, Loaves & Fishes has grown to a network of 17 pantries
and four mini-pantries located throughout Mecklenburg County. Loaves & Fishes served over 69,000 people in 2005.

Mission Statement
Believing that all people in our community should be able to meet their basic hunger needs and that we are called
to share our resources, Loaves & Fishes' mission is to provide groceries and support to people in crisis. Loaves & Fishes
is a nondenominational organization, founded and operated by local religious congregations. It grew out of an effort
in 1975 at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church to respond to the growing hunger problem in Mecklenburg County and
continues to expand to meet that need.

Thanks for your donations!
